Lakefield College School is a boarding school for grades 9-12, located in Peterborough, Ontario. The project included an addition to Ryder house, one of their much-loved student dormitories. Additional student dorm rooms, as well as a bright, spacious common room was designed as an place for students to gather when not in class. 

In keeping with Lakefield College School’s commitment to sustainability, the new addition at Ryder House was designed to be super-insulated and airtight so it uses less energy, is more comfortable and will be more durable over time. Built to a passive house level with triple glazed windows, carbon negative insulation, and low embodied carbon materials, this building will be comfortable for the students – and extremely energy efficient, for years to come.
